ADAPT Celebrates Pre-School Graduates

Follow us

Each June, we gather to celebrate the accomplishments of our pre-school and school age graduates. Hundreds of families, teachers and staff gathered to witness our stellar pre-school students graduate over the past few weeks at ADAPT’s program sites spanning across the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island.

At each ceremony, families come together with teachers and staff to cheer their loved ones along. Students perform songs, dances and skits to show off their new skills, even the parents join in! Many staff gives heartfelt speeches, often quoting the popular Dr. Seuss, while also showcasing accomplishments and memories from the year.

With thunderous applause and the clicking of cameras, the graduates proudly receive their diplomas, celebrating this first of many achievements! Pre-school is the start of so much of a child’s future. ADAPT is proud to support each and every child, and to guide them toward a bright and promising future.

This year’s graduations came shortly after ADAPT’s five locations were chosen as a 2017-18 School for Excellence by National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET).

All of ADAPT’s preschools met the high standards needed to be selected by NASET, as this distinction is
only bestowed upon select qualified licensed private special education schools. As per NASET, the
NASET School of Excellence is the highest level of recognition a private special education school can
achieve through their organization.

“We are honored to receive this coveted recognition as it further demonstrates that the hard work and
dedication of the special education teachers and staff here at ADAPT is truly making a difference in the
lives of so many children with disabilities,” said Edward R. Matthews, CEO of ADAPT. “Our programs also
integrate typically learning children with those that have special needs when possible as it can only
benefit any child to learn in an integrated, non-segregated environment,” added Matthews.

Congratulations to ALL of this year’s graduates and students!
