Family Donates Award-Winning Bicycle for Kids at Staten Island Preschool Program

Follow us

Over the past 20 years, Steve and Judy Bogen have supported the Staten Island Preschool Program in a number of ways.

This year, the Bogen family approached the physical and occupational therapy departments, asking if there was a piece of equipment that the departments needed.  The PT and OT department suggested a Mission Musketeer 14-inch Special Needs Tricycle. This award-winning bike is full of fun and raises independence for the child that uses it, but comes with a hefty price tag. The bike was specially ordered by Bennett’s Bicycles on Staten Island.  One of the children in the program, Prince, recently took the bike for a spin.

Prince has difficulty with his gait, so the bike is a great option to increase leg strength.  Prince said, “I like riding the bike with Mr. Tim.” Dr. Timothy McGuire is one of the Children’s Program’s physical therapists, and he regularly used the bike with Prince.

Many thanks to the Bogen Family for this wonderful donation which will be benefit many children in the Staten Island Preschool Program!
